Our Experience
Holt Golf Design Philosophy
Close relationship and communication with the client – Without a doubt all projects are better when the designer “listens” to the client’s desires and goals and works very closely throughout the project to ensure these goals remain the “heart” of the design.
Site Research – Every effort is made to walk and personally see every corner of a project site prior to concept drawings. Inspiration from the natural character and beauty of the land and its environment is key to a unique and creative design solution.
Site Sensitive Routing – This design step is critically important to every design decision to follow. A well-routed golf course will respond as much as possible to the existing land conditions and project development goals. A successful routing will save the client money, provide a safe, fun and exciting golf course set seamlessly within the overall development.
Detailed Design Documents – When the routing is set the design is then detailed within a comprehensive set of construction drawings that will aid in the development of a realistic budget, ensure accurate bidding from potential contractors and will guide every step of the construction process to follow.
Construction Management – Even with detailed construction drawings much of the real creative work on a golf course design is “fleshed out” in the field. Spencer believes in being very involved during the construction and encourages a “collaborative” process by welcoming input from the contractor and client’s representative to ensure the most successful solutions are achieved as a team.
